Material availability check for production orders
A material availability check answers a practical question before production starts: do you have enough of every required component, at the right time, for this order to run?

For a small discrete manufacturer, the minimum useful check combines four data sets:
- current component inventory
- the bill of materials for each product
- open production jobs with quantities and start dates
- incoming purchase orders with expected quantities and dates
The important distinction is that on-hand inventory is not always the same as inventory available to a specific job. Earlier or higher-priority jobs may consume the same component first.
It allocates supply to production jobs in start-date order and classifies each job as READY, AT RISK or BLOCKED. The calculation is deterministic. Your CSV files stay in your browser.
Why manufacturers check before releasing work
A production order can look feasible while a single component makes it impossible to start or complete. A readiness check exposes the specific component, required quantity, available quantity and shortage before the job reaches the floor.
Do you need a new ERP to do this?
No. Full ERP and MRP systems can provide material availability logic, but a small manufacturer may only need a narrow diagnostic first.
